A full technical, content, authority and AI-search audit of Infographiac, run October 17, 2026 against Google US. The short version: you have built a genuine library of 165 infographics, and almost nobody can find it. A third of the index is junk, the money topic is split six ways, the images are invisible to image search, and there is one independent link.
01 · Executive summary
Seven pillars, weighted into one score, then the six findings that explain it.
Infographiac has the hard part done: 165 infographic articles averaging 1,320 words, clean plumbing and schema on every post. What it does not have is a search presence. 20 keywords rank, none in the top 20, and the export shows 10 clicks. The reasons are fixable and mostly self-inflicted: 89 junk pages in the index, six URLs splitting the submission topic (one canonicalized to a 404), 83% of images without alt text on a site whose product is images, 9 to 15 MB pages, and one independent referring domain. Meanwhile, pages you already published match about 100,000 monthly searches at low difficulty.

What is working
02 · Organic visibility
20 US keywords, none on the first two pages, and a 2025 collapse that followed the publishing stop.
Monthly · the 2025 slide follows the publishing stop
Count of keywords · nothing above #28
Monthly searches across each page's ranked keywords · red = returns 404
Clicks · impressions · average position · crawl status
Ranked keywords hit 36 in February 2025, two months after 71 posts went live in December 2024. Publishing then nearly stopped (3 posts from June 2025 to August 2026) and rankings fell to 1 by October 2025. Rankings rebuilt through spring and summer 2026 to 41 in September, and have already slipped to 21 this month.
The brand search returns coolinfographics.com, YouTube and Adobe Spark; the site is not in the top 20. The homepage says only "Visual & Graphical Database" in its title and description, and there is no Organization schema with sameAs links to give Google an entity.
03 · The money topic
Infographic submission is the topic that sells your packages. It is also the most tangled part of the site.
Same intent, six different titles · plus a 27-site study on optimizationtheory.com
Impressions by URL · red = 404 or canonical to 404
Small volume, high commercial value
/submission-sites/ had the strongest engagement in GA4 (22 views, 20-minute sessions). Its canonical points to /download-free-list-of-60-infographic-sites/, which returns 404, so Google is instructed to index nothing. Meanwhile the old /submitting-infographics-top-sites…/ URL is a 404 that still holds 4 of your 20 ranked keywords.
04 · Competitive landscape
Infographic publishers, galleries and submission directories, benchmarked with DataForSEO Labs and the Backlinks API. Your other two sites included for reference.

Even small submission directories such as opeepl.com (1,708 referring domains), sbmediashowcase.com (1,650) and infographicplaza.com (2,966) out-link infographi.ac by 275 to 500 times. Google's competitor model pairs you with Piktochart, Shutterstock, Pew Research and Statista because of the social-media and data topics you cover, not with other infographic hubs.
05 · Backlink authority
Every referring domain was pulled and classified. The link profile is almost entirely your own network.
All 6 referring domains
124 come from sites you own
Flat since November 2025
The homepage takes 117 of 172 links; a backlinked article now returns 404
vuss.io (84 links), jgrl.ink (31) and optimizationtheory.com (9) are yours; prothemes.biz (46) is an SEO-tool spam domain; xlz.us is a link shortener. That leaves one Pinterest link from October 2026. Visual Capitalist has 75,121 referring domains.
06 · Technical health
HTTPS, host redirects, robots.txt and llms.txt are fine. The problem is which pages are indexable and listed.

/trivia/, /poll/, /list/ and three /type/ archives are linked from every page, while 60 articles get 3 or fewer internal links. All 20 /page/2/ archives are noindex, nofollow, so older posts lose their path in.

All 12 SERPs checked show an AI Overview, and AI systems cannot read the numbers inside a PNG. A 50-word answer-first summary and a structured text version of the data (a short list or table, with sources) under each infographic is what gets lifted and cited. The Gen Z slang piece already earns a ChatGPT citation because its text answers the question directly.
